Hij is een van de meest invloedrijke figuren binnen de moderne rock: rauw, experimenteel, melodieus en altijd eigenwijs. Zijn muziek combineert desert rock, stoner, alternatieve rock en donkere, hypnotiserende grooves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Homme wordt gezien als een van de belangrijkste vernieuwers binnen de rock sinds de jaren \u201990.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Jeugd en Beginjaren<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Joshua Michael Homme werd geboren op <strong>17 mei 1973<\/strong> in Palm Springs, Californi\u00eb. Hij groeide op in de woestijn van Palm Desert, de bakermat van de desert\u2011rockscene. Op zijn 12e begon hij gitaar te spelen en op zijn 14e richtte hij zijn eerste band op.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Kyuss (1987-1995)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Voor Queens of the Stone Age was er <strong>Kyuss<\/strong>, de legendarische stonerrockband die het genre definieerde. In 2024 werd duidelijk dat zijn medische situatie ernstig was en dat alle QOTSA\u2011shows moesten worden geannuleerd zodat hij noodzakelijke zorg kon krijgenriffreport.nl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2025 vertelde hij dat hij <strong>zeven maanden bedlegerig<\/strong> was geweest door complicaties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ondanks alles blijft hij werken aan nieuwe muziek en gaf hij in 2024 aan dat een nieuw QOTSA\u2011album \u201cer sneller aankomt dan mensen denken\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Side\u2011Projects<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Josh Homme is een meester in samenwerkingen.
